According to Professor Meelis Kitsing, Rector of EBS, the accreditation confirms the university’s position among the global leaders in management and business education, and further strengthens the reputation of Estonian higher education in the international arena: “This recognition demonstrates that our programme meets the highest international quality standards. At the same time, it affirms our commitment and readiness to continuously evolve and to provide students with a solid practical foundation and comprehensive management skills needed in today’s world,” Kitsing stated.
Anto Liivat, Head of Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes at EBS, adds that the feedback from the evaluation committee reassures the school that it is on the right path: “Only 41 bachelor’s programmes worldwide have received a five-year EFMD accreditation. In our region — including Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland and Sweden — there are only three such programmes in total. The fact that our programme exceeded international standards in as many as ten categories is a remarkable achievement. The committee highlighted EBS’s individual and student-centred approach, the practical applicability of the studies, and the strong alignment between alumni competencies and labour market needs. Our commitment to developing an international learning environment was also emphasised.”
The EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) Programme Accreditation is one of the most important international recognitions for programmes in business and management. During the accreditation process, the programme’s content and structure, teaching organisation, student satisfaction, alumni success in the labour market, and its reputation at both national and international levels are thoroughly evaluated.
Estonian Business School (EBS) was founded in 1988 and is the oldest business university in the Baltics. Approximately 1,000 students are enrolled in EBS’s bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes, and an additional 150 pupils attend EBS High School.
