Overcame Challenges and Enhanced EU Budgeting: Insights and Reflections

Delving into their personal journey, the presenter shared a rich background in public administration and EU affairs, marked by a consistent commitment to climate policy. This personal narrative not only humanised the speaker but also underscored the importance of passion and dedication in driving meaningful change, particularly in areas as critical as climate change and policy-making.

 

The transition from national to European roles illustrated a broadened perspective, highlighting the speaker's extensive experience across various governmental capacities, including significant positions such as the Minister of Environment and Foreign Affairs in Estonia. This diverse background provided a unique lens through which the speaker viewed EU budgeting, enriched by a comprehensive understanding of both legislative and executive processes.

 

As a current member of the European Court of Auditors, the speaker brought an invaluable insider's perspective to the discussion on EU budgeting.
