EBS is the First in the Baltics in Resilience and Crisis Management Education

a
Estonian Business School (EBS) is the first university in the Baltic region to announce a new course in resilience and crisis management for both MBA students and entrepreneurs in its Tallinn campus in autumn semester of 2024.

According to Meelis Kitsing, Rector of EBS as an entrepreneurial management university, EBS plays an important role in the ecosystem of economic education and business: “Our MBA students and entrepreneurs rely on our foresight and capability to prepare them for future challenges”, says Kitsing. “Major recent crises and risks, such as the pandemic, geopolitical and grey-zone threats, created a strong demand for very practical, hands-on guidance in resilience, risk, and emergency management. We are delighted to be the first university to offer such a learning opportunity through our microdegree, for leaders and managers in the Baltic and Nordic regions,” he adds.

Resilience and Crisis Management course is a part of Digital Innovation, Transformation and Resilience microdegree that launches in EBS Tallinn Campus in Autumn semester of 2024. The learning schedule follows the convenient pattern of EBS MBA programme, where both students and participating entrepreneurs take in-class courses every second week, while completing off-campus assignments in between.

The facilitator for Resilience and Crisis management is Jānis Vanags. He has over 15 years of experience in executive board/senior management positions in aviation, service, retail, and health-care industries spanning 30+ markets in the EU, CIS and Middle East. Mr. Vanags is additionally an advisor/trainer in emergency management for major international organizations and companies in Europe, Asia and Africa (IATA, United Nations, etc). He has designed, reshaped, and implemented Emergency Response Organisations across a range of large aviation/transport, manufacturing, healthcare, and service businesses, and he currently liaises with NATO and national defence bodies on resilience issues (strategic reserves; business and military synergies for resilience; hybrid/grey zone threats).

Founded in 1988, EBS is the oldest privately owned business university in the Baltics. With 1000 students and hundreds of learners in executive programs, EBS’s goal is to provide entrepreneurial people with academic knowledge, skills, and values for successful implementation of their ventures. EBS offers degrees at Bachelor’s, Master’s as well as Doctoral levels.
