Turn data into decisions

Most organisations have more data than they use.

In this course you learn to define the KPIs that matter, prepare and check data, analyse it with spreadsheets, BI tools and AI assistants, and build a dashboard that leads to decisions rather than just reports. You work on your own team's data from the first week.

By the end of the course you will have a working dashboard for your team or unit and a one-page decision memo based on it.

This course is the first step of the learning path “Data, Automation and AI Agents”. Next, explore “Redesigning Business Processes with AI and Automation” and “Managing Agentic Work: AI Agents at Scale”.

Who is From Data to Decisions: Analytics and Dashboards intended for?

The course is designed for managers, analysts, controllers, marketers and other non-technical data users.

No coding is needed.

The course runs in two parallel groups: in Estonian on Tuesdays and in English on Thursdays.

From insight to action

You build a working dashboard for your team or unit and write a one-page decision memo based on it.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

define useful KPIs and the questions they should answer;
prepare, clean and check data, using spreadsheets and AI tools;
build a dashboard in a BI tool that people use to make decisions;
interpret results, spot noise and bias, and turn findings into management action.

Meet the other participants

After the fifth session there is a joint evening at EBS, where you can get to know the other participants and share experiences.

Completion and feedback

During the course you complete practical assignments, two milestones and a final project:

milestone 1: KPI set and cleaned data;
milestone 2: draft dashboard;
final project: dashboard and decision memo

You receive written feedback on each milestone within seven days. There are no exams or grades.

To complete the course and receive the certificate, you must attend at least seven of the nine sessions and present your final project.

Certificate

On completing the course you receive an EBS executive education certificate.

Learning environment

Sessions take place in EBS classrooms. Canvas is used for independent work.

Changes and cancellation

EBS reserves the right to change the content, schedule, format, location and lecturers of the course or learning path before it starts. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, EBS may postpone or cancel the course; registered participants will be informed in good time and any fees paid will be refunded in full.
