Supriya Banerjee summarizes the following in his doctoral dissertation: „The extensive research published in the field of corporate governance systems has covered several dimensions of the available typologies of corporate governance systems. However, the dimension of individual basic values and cultural value orientations has not been thoroughly unfolded so far among the available typologies of corporate governance systems. The broad object of study in this thesis is typologies of corporate governance systems, and this doctoral research was conducted to solve a research problem: theory scarcity, which gives explanatory power to country-level corporate governance systems that include values. [- - -] The results of this thesis present the main findings from the theoretical and empirical research conducted to solve the research problem, which is to understand and clarify values and corporate governance systems, and construct a preliminary country-level typology for corporate governance systems that include values. The contribution of this doctoral thesis to scientific research is twofold, having both theoretical and practical implications. In terms of its theoretical contribution, this thesis developed a theory, namely, a country-level typology of corporate governance systems that includes values. This thesis also has implications for the improvement of corporate governance practice.“
