What you will learn

You will learn how to build, develop, and lead a business.

The programme is built around the lifecycle of a company. This means you learn entrepreneurship as a whole, not as separate subjects.

The learning experience follows a business simulation where you move through all stages of a company’s development. You start with an idea, turn it into a business model, grow the company, and make strategic decisions about its future.

Each stage gives you the knowledge and skills needed for the next step.

During your studies, you will gain knowledge in key areas of entrepreneurship – product development, marketing, finance, management, and digital solutions.

You will learn to evaluate ideas, make business decisions, and manage growth.

You will also develop skills in teamwork, leadership, and responsible entrepreneurship.

Programme Overview

In the first semester, your entrepreneurial journey starts with working in different teams to discover opportunities for impactful entrepreneurship and sustainable business creation. We focus on the wider business context by exploring trends and global challenges that entrepreneurs face today.

You will learn how to work in creative teams. You also learn about yourself and how to become a successful entrepreneur or entrepreneurial leader.

30 ECTS

Your entrepreneurial journey continues with validating a business idea. You will explore business models and identify potential first customers. At the same time, you form a stable team and start preparing the initial organisational structure that supports your business idea.

As a team, you learn how to overcome failure by pivoting your idea. On a personal level, you continue to develop your entrepreneurial mindset.

33 ECTS

The third semester focuses on continuous and sustainable business model innovation. You explore different strategies for growth, expansion, and internationalisation.

As a team, you prepare your business for scaling. As an individual, you begin to understand your roles and responsibilities as a founder, leader, and manager.

30 ECTS

At this stage, your business becomes more stable. You explore different exit strategies, from bankruptcy to an initial public offering (IPO). You also learn how to communicate these decisions internally and externally.

As a team, you develop negotiation skills and learn to manage complex situations. As an individual, you learn to deal with the emotional side of letting go of a business.

33 ECTS

In the fifth semester, you deepen your knowledge based on your interests. You can study abroad or take elective courses at EBS.

You also focus on building your professional network and begin preparing your thesis.

30 ECTS

In the final semester, you apply what you have learned to launching your business or defining your career path.

You complete your thesis and develop a personal leadership toolkit that supports your future as an entrepreneur.

24 ECTS

Internship

Learn through real experience

At EBS, internships are part of your studies, not an extra.

During your studies, you complete two internships that give you real work experience early on. This helps you understand what kind of career suits you and what skills are expected in the job market. You are supported in finding an internship, guided through the application process, and get to meet employers.

  • In your first internship, you learn how organisations work and how decisions are made. A mentor supports you in thinking through your career direction and understanding employer expectations.
  • In your second internship, you work on a real business challenge. You analyse the situation and propose solutions. You are also supported by a coaching session that helps you plan your next steps with more clarity.

By the end of the two internships, you have gained experience, confidence, and a clearer understanding of your strengths. This gives you a strong starting point for entering the job market.

The quality of the EBS internship programme is recognised by the Estonian Education and Youth Board with the quality label “Recognised Internship System 2023–2027”.
