The Knowledge Team on Business in Society explores how business, technology, and society shape one another and how these relationships can be developed responsibly. By combining rigorous theory with applied research, the team seeks to generate knowledge that advances social justice, sustainable development, and human flourishing.

Research focuses on organisational sustainability, responsible leadership, and the factors that help organisations build resilience and make responsible decisions in complex environments.

Societal Impact

Research explores social justice, equality, democracy, diversity, inclusion, migration, integration, and social innovation, and their implications for organisations and society.

Governance and Innovation

Research examines governance, innovation, and the interaction between business, technology, and society, including the governance of AI and emerging technologies.

Teaching activities

The Knowledge Team’s teaching activities cover topics such as responsible leadership, business ethics, social justice, diversity and inclusion, migration and integration, social innovation, and the governance of AI and emerging technologies.  By connecting research with real-world challenges, teaching helps learners understand how business, technology, and society interact and how responsible decisions can create positive impact.
