Family business leaders and global experts to gather in Tallinn for the 4th Baltic conference on governance and succession
Family business owners, next-generation leaders, and internationally recognised experts will gather in Tallinn on June 15–16, 2026, for the 4th Baltic Family Firm Institute (BFFI) & ECGI Annual Conference, titled “Steering the Legacy: Governance and Succession in Family Enterprises".
Hosted at the Estonian Business School, the conference will focus on one of the most critical challenges facing family businesses today: how to balance long-term legacy with modern governance, growth, and generational transition.
A key platform for Baltic business leaders
Family-owned companies form the backbone of the Baltic economies, representing a significant share of employment and long-term capital. The conference will bring together family business owners, advisors, academics, and policymakers to explore how governance structures, succession planning, and strategic decision-making can support sustainable growth across generations.
“While family businesses are a cornerstone of the Baltic economy, many are still far from openly addressing the most challenging aspects of family business management — from succession to governance and decision-making across generations. This conference is about bringing those conversations to the forefront.” Anete Pajuste, board member BFFI.
Organized in collaboration with the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI), the event is part of a broader initiative on responsible capitalism, highlighting the role of family enterprises in shaping resilient economies.
The conference is held with the support of SEB as the main sponsor and SORAINEN and ViaClarus as conference contributors, reinforcing the importance of strong partnerships in advancing family business development in the Baltics.
