Clearer professional positioning and more intentional visibility
This bachelor level course gives participants practical frameworks and tools to understand how they are perceived and how to shape that perception ethically and strategically. The focus is not simply on self-promotion, but on clarity: what the participant stands for, who they create value for, and how to communicate that value credibly. Through practical exercises, peer feedback, and individual assignments, participants develop a personal branding strategy that can be applied on LinkedIn, across digital platforms, in networking, and in professional communication. The course supports career development, entrepreneurship, expert positioning, and a more visible and impactful role within an organisation.
In this course, you will study alongside third-year students in the International Business Administration program at EBS.
Who is Personal Branding intended for?
The course is designed for working professionals, entrepreneurs, consultants, specialists, educators, creative professionals, and people planning a career transition who want to manage their professional image more intentionally. It is suitable for participants who are ready for self-reflection, practical assignments, and analysis of their digital presence. Prior knowledge of marketing is not required.
Explore the course
The learning is structured in sequential sessions (4x), where each meeting lays the foundation for the next practical step. The contact learning uses discussions, pair and group exercises, reflection, profile analysis, feedback and practical worksheets. Independent tasks support the gradual completion of the personal brand strategy.
Topics Covered
Why this matters
Professional reputation is shaped through other people’s perceptions: how a person is seen, which strengths are associated with them, and what opportunities this creates or limits. This session helps participants understand the concepts of personal brand, personal branding, and digital twin, as well as their connection to professional trust and visibility.
What will happen
Participants analyse how first impressions are formed, which signals influence trust, and how self-perception, others’ perception, online presence, and future self may differ. Through practical exercises, participants map perception gaps and begin developing a future vision that becomes the foundation for their personal branding strategy.
Why this matters
A strong personal brand is not built on random visibility, but on a clear understanding of one’s values, strengths, interests, and impact. Participants need to be able to translate their competence into value that others can clearly understand.
What will happen
The session uses the Brand Essence Tree model to connect values, strengths, actions, communication style, proof, and audience into a coherent whole. Participants develop an initial message and define who they create value for, what problem they help solve, and which concrete action can make that value visible.
Why this matters
Today, professional reputation is often formed before the first meeting — through search results, LinkedIn profiles, social media, and public signals. A digital twin should support the participant’s goals instead of creating an unclear or accidental image.
What will happen
Participants analyse their online profiles through the lenses of visibility, credibility, and result-oriented action. They refine their profile message, select relevant channels, define content topics and formats, and create a realistic visibility routine that supports their 30/60/90-day action plan.
Why this matters
A personal brand needs a structured toolkit that keeps the message, visual language, actions, and goals aligned. The Brandbook gives participants a practical system for developing their professional visibility over time.
What will happen
Participants bring together the materials created throughout the course into a Personal Brandbook: future vision, brand essence, offer, audiences, digital twin, visibility plan, content pillars, credibility assets, and potential brand risks. The session includes peer feedback, strategy refinement, and planning of next steps.
