State Subsidy for Studies
EBS Bachelor and Master (only MA programs) level students have the possibility to apply for the following state subsidies:
Main subsidy – 5X55,92 € designed to cover the expenses related to acquiring an education
Additional subsidy – 5X28,12 € designed to cover the expenses related to accommodation and transport.
The main subsidy may be applied for by a student who:
- is an Estonian citizen or has resided in Estonia for an extended period or has been living here on the basis of a temporary residence permit;
- is acquiring education in a study programme with a certain number of state orders (in EBS all bachelor study programmes and MA study programme);
- is a full-time student;
- has not surpassed the nominal duration of a study programme;
- is not on academic leave.
The additional subsidy may be applied for by a student who:
- complies with the conditions of the main subsidy;
- lives outside Tallinn or its bordering local governments (Harku municipality, Jõelähtme municipality, Kiili municipality, Laagri municipality, Rae municipality, Saku municipality, Saue municipality, Viimsi municipality, Maardu and Saue).
First year students have the right to apply for the subsidy once a year in spring semester. In following years they have the possibility to apply twice a year, in the beginning of fall and spring semesters. To receive the subsidy, the student must hand in the respective application, the forms of which are available in the Study Department. While applying for the additional subsidy, the student must acquire a certificate issued by local government. The applications for subsidies are accepted by September the 15th in fall semester and February the 15th in spring semester. The academic results of the students who have handed in their applications are compared and a decision concerning scholarships is based on credit points and average grades.

Student loans are available according to the Estonian Laws for all full time Estonian students.
