25 years of EBS
Estonian Business School, the first private university in Estonia, was established in 1988 by Professor Madis Habakuk (Estonia), Professor Marshall Fitzgerald (USA) and Mr Ilmar Martens (Canada).
The foundation of EBS in 1988 was an important milestone in the development university business education in Estonia. It was a year that marked the beginning of academic education in business in Estonia, as well as the country"s participation in international research and study networks that have been decisive for the creation of Estonian business links in the years since Estonian re-independence.
In 2008 the university and its alumni celebrated the 20th anniversary of Estonian Business School. On that occasion, Estonian Business School conferred honorary degrees on two distinguished academic friends of the school: Professor Peeter Lorange (Norway), former president of IMD, Switzerland; and Professor Leslie Young (Hong Kong), Professor of Finance, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
In 2013 Estonian Business School will already celebrate the 25th anniversary.
