About Journal of Management and Change, EBS Review

Dear Reader,

Journal of Management and Change, earlier named as EBS Review is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal, which has been published since the spring of 1995. At first it was the magazine of one university, a magazine for our professors, students, alumni and the board of our university, containing articles - research reports from our own people and also leaving space for interesting contributions from outside, including our foreign partners. It was a place to share the work our faculty members have done, publishing articles with some research orientation and highlighting the events at the business school.

Today Journal of Management and Change / EBS Review is a peer-reviewed journal, where everybody can submit their research articles and where only about 25-30 % of articles submitted are accepted. There are specialised issues, but all the topics relate to business administration and management. So far we have published 28 issues, the issues 13-19 are also published on the CD and as an electronic version articles are available for wider audiences through the EBSCO databases.

As to the contents of the journal, the focus has been laid on subjects taught in our School and topical issues in economics and society. We have covered several different fields in the twenty eight issues of the journal published so far. We have dwelt upon education and management, finance and banking, privatisation, business ethics, European Union, public administration, e-business, etc., to sum it up, we have written about everything connected with business and the transition to a market-oriented economy.

With every new issue we are trying to improve to bring you better and more qualitative articles to read. During the last years our journal’s scope has changed, we have now a permanent editorial board, all well-known and distinguished academics and high-level specialists in their fields. These are the people who help us to review, evaluate and choose the articles which are worth to publish. Distinguished academics and specialist from different countries helped us to choose the articles and reviewed each paper for several times. As members of this board are all high-level specialists they demand a lot.
Our aim is to pursue a continual process of improvement and by broadening the editorial board with top specialists from various fields of management and business administration.

Journal of Management and Change is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal and we are continuously looking forward to receiving the contributions in form of longer articles (optimum 8000-9000 words without reference list and appendices) about the theoretical and empirical and shorter articles (optimum 5000-6000 words) about managerial approaches to the issues discussed in our journal. The whole process including reviews, feedback and revision may take up to one year, but we also offer much faster publishing opportunities, especially for high quality papers. We also consider having specific focus topics a good choice for the review and we want to continue in the same way.

The articles gathered into these issues have gone through the time consuming process of review and evaluation, and the authors have risen to the new requirements set for this publication. Widening the editorial board will guarantee the quality of our publication and leave us with the desire to offer ever-greater quality with each new issue. We consider the topics covered to be important and hope everybody can find something interesting to discover. We would also like to show our gratitude to the authors, editors and partners, indeed to everybody who has helped us to prepare these issues for our readers.

Wishing you all a pleasant and stimulating read,
