EBS Senate elected Katri Kerem as a Marketing Professor and a Head of the newly created Marketing Chair in Estonian Business School.

"The election of Katri Kerem as a Marketing Professor in EBS has a symbolic significance – Katri is the first professor aged under 40. We hope that this historic moment will pave the way for a new generation of professors and will be an inspiration to the current doctoral students," said EBS Rector Peeter Kross.

Katri Kerem has defended her PhD in Tallinn University of Technology. Prior, she acquired a master"s degree in economics at the same university and a bachelor"s degree in international economic relations at Tartu University. During various foreign exchange and scholarship programmes Katri has studied at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, St. Joseph"s University in the United States, University of Jyväskylä in Finland, and Royal University of Technology in Sweden. "I am glad that marketing area, which has great importance in achieving a company’s business goals, has also become a credible science in academic world. My election as a Marketing Professor and a Head of the newly created Marketing Chair in Estonian Business School is certainly one sign of this development. I hope to contribute to the development of marketing as an academic field both in EBS as well as at large in Estonia," said Katri Kerem.

Katri Kerem, who previously worked as a docent in EBS, has also a long-term work experience in the field of marketing. Among other things, Katri has previously worked in the wholesale chain AbeStock as an advertising and public relations manager and in advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi as a project manager.
