Andres Tupits becomes the Acting Head of EBS Department of Economics

From February 1st Dr. Andres Tupits will begin working in EBS Department of Economics as an Associate Professor and Acting Head of the department.

Andres Tupits gained his PhD in Law from Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary, University of London. He has been practising law since 1997. Tupits has extensive experience in issues involving European Union law, financial law, data protection and protection of professional secrecy. He worked as legal counsel and senior legal counsel at the European Central Bank for over seven years, preceded by over four years' service as an in-house lawyer at the Bank of Estonia. Andres Tupits is the lead author of an Estonian-language book on banking law and has published articles in law journals Juridica, International and Comparative Law Journal as well as the ECB Legal Working Paper Series.

 Andres Tupits has been cooperating with EBS before, being the Senior Associate to Law Firm Sorainen, with whom EBS has conducted an elective module of Business Law for the EBS Master’s Program.
