EBS holds the wisest night in Estonia

11.07.2008

On Monday, 14 July at 9pm Estonian Business School (EBS) holds the Open Evening in EBS courtyard for potential Bachelor’s students.

In contrast the traditional Open Days EBS opens its doors at evening to everyone, who plans to continue their studies at Bachelor’s level. The late night event with good music and refreshments will be held in Learning Café style, offering an opportunity to take part in a programme that is both educational and entertaining. On this evening, DJ Hash is going to choose the music and EBS will offer information on EBS Bachelor’s programmes and courses as well as the possibility to meet EBS professors, students and alumni.

Learning Café is an internationally recognised training methodology. It is used to create a natural discussion and brainstorming environment that facilitates knowledge, experience and opinion transfer between people from diverse backgrounds and helps bring out differing points of view. The Open Evening will provide a forum on various topics of interest relevant to continuing one’s education. Participants will be involved in round-table discussions on planning their Bachelor studies.

Peeter Kross, Rector of EBS, says: “At our Open Evening a freshman can meet with EBS students and alumni as well as academic and administrative personnel. This gives an opportunity to explore everything about the school or its mentality, while choosing the school and field of study. The emotional side, how the student is influenced by his or her time at university, is as important as the practical side of your studies.”

“While other schools organise open houses in daytime, we will hold our event at night, which enables to create club ambiance and allows easy communication. Good ideas always pop up in informal conversations,” added Kadri Osula, EBS Head of Study Department “Last year’s experience shows that the format is well received by young people. We had great attendance and received very good feedback. We expect active participation also this Thursday.”

Bachelor’s studies admission is opened until July 15.
